| I don't know too much about audio equipment, will this be hard to setup?
No, for the average person it only takes about 5-10 minutes to get a MiniDJ system up and running (with instructions provided at the time of pickup). More importantly, our MiniDJ systems are simplified and specially designed with the average person in mind--simple to setup and simple to run. However, if you would prefer to have us take care of the setup and delivery, we can do so for only $50 more!
Will it be difficult to play music from the MiniDJ system?
In order to make playback as easy as possible for the largest number of people, all of our songs and playlists are included on an Apple iPod. So, if you understand how to use an iPod, music playback should be very simple.
What if I have my own music on my iPod, computer, or other device, will I be able to use it on the MiniDJ system?
Yes, our MiniDJ system comes complete with a standard 1/8" stereo jack which can be plugged directly in to an iPod, computer, or MP3 player (or any other device with a standard headphone jack). .
How am I supposed to sort through 12,500+ songs and pick what to play?
The iPod you will receive comes complete with a ton of fantastic DJ created playlists for your use. These playlists span many of the major music genres and even include everything from background music to great dance hits! In fact, once you reserve a DIY system you will have the ability to view all of the included playlists that you will receive on the iPod using our interactive library viewer (available in the customers area).
Can I see what music I will receive on the built-in iPod at my event?
Absolutely. Though our interactive music browser you can actually see just what music you will receive in the same format as the built-in Apple iPod. You can browse the by artist, genre, or song (as well as see the playlists names) just as if you were using the actual iPod! Remember, there are thousands of songs so the lists may be a little long.
Will I also receive a microphone to use?
Yes, our systems include a high-quality wired microphone for your convenience.
What are the rental terms?
Our MIniDJ systems include a full 24 hour rental period, convenient customer pick-up in the Des Moines area (or optional delivery for $50), and much more. For our complete terms, visit the Des Moines DJTerms & Conditions section of our website.
Will I be receiving professional audio equipment or a home stereo system?
The audio equipment you will receive is professional DJ equipment which is comparable (or even superior) to many mobile DJ systems. You will receive professional EV speakers, a high-end QSC amplifier, a built-in Apple iPod, and other high-quality audio components.
I'd prefer not to setup the equipment, can you take care of that for me?
Yes, for an additional $50 we will deliver, setup, tear-down, and pickup the equipment at your location within the Des Moines, Iowa area (see our Terms & Conditions for full details)
Do you offer any lighting?
No, we only offer audio packages at this time in an effort to make our setup less complex, more compact, and as affordable as possible. However, we do offer karaoke as one of our additional options!
